Ugandan army chief Muhoozi Kainerugaba has sparked fresh reactions online after demanding that rapper Jay-Z give him Beyoncé so he can marry her.
Kainerugaba, the son of President Yoweri Museveni, made the remarks in a series of posts on X on June 28. The military leader has repeatedly expressed admiration for the singer.
In one now-deleted post, he said he would hold a solo protest in Kampala to get Beyoncé’s attention.
“If Beyonce doesn’t even know me, I’m going to mount a 1 man demonstration at City Square. It will be called ‘I’m here Beyonce’ demonstration,” Kainerugaba wrote.
He later directed another message at Jay-Z, Beyoncé’s husband.
“I’m giving Jay-Z one week to surrender my wife to me. Or else I take this matter to the UN,” he added.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z married in April 2008. They have three children: Blue Ivy, born in 2012, and twins Rumi and Sir, born in 2017.
This is not the first time Kainerugaba has made such comments. In 2025, he posted messages claiming that “Jay-Z married my woman.” He also challenged the rapper to a physical duel and asked him to travel to Uganda to apologise.
Neither Beyoncé nor Jay-Z has responded to the comments.
The posts have attracted mixed reactions on social media. Many users expressed surprise at the army chief’s continued public comments about the American superstar.
