A United Nations report has disclosed that at least 18,802 civilians have been killed in Iraq between the Start of 2014 and October 2015.
The Islamic State group and Iraqi forces are engaged in a bitter struggle for supremacy. The Iraqi forces have recently recorded some important victories but the battle is far from over.
3,500 people were conscripted into slavery by IS in 2014 while 900 children were abducted in Mosul.
There are speculations that even the figure of 18,802 is nowhere near the real figure. The Islamic State group still controls sizeable territory in Iraq and Syria.
