Following numerous reported cases of sexual abuse by United Nations peacekeepers in the Central African Republic, a United States advocacy group- AIDS Free World– has stated that peacekeepers sexually abused 98 girls in CAR.
The incidences of abuse date back to 2014 where the girls were said to have been forced to undress and have sex with dogs. The United Nations has in its own finding admitted that there were 69 cases of sexual abuse by Peacekeepers in 2015 alone- 22 of these cases were in the Central African Republic.

AIDS Free World disclosed that UNICEF has interviewed the 98 girls who reported sexual abuse two weeks ago but it did not disclose the outcome of the interviews.
The United Nations has come under criticism for its handling of the sexual abuse cases as the organization has no powers to deal directly with the peacekeepers involved. The peacekeeping units involved in the sexual abuses scandals have all been repatriated without their identities disclosed.
