Tomi Adeyemi Children of Blood and Bone became a trending topic after the bestselling author shared painful experiences surrounding the upcoming film adaptation. She described the production as the worst experience of her life during an emotional five-minute video shared with followers online.

Adeyemi explained that everyone involved at the highest level already knew about her concerns for more than one year. She claimed those individuals ignored her struggles and instead continued actions that made the difficult situation even more emotionally exhausting.

“What I’m about to share is not a secret to the people involved,” Adeyemi said. “It’s a reality that I’ve had to live with for about a year and a half.” The novelist revealed she left the movie set “hyperventilating and sobbing” after enduring circumstances that deeply affected her physical and emotional wellbeing.

She added that the painful experience continued even after production because she believes people still antagonize her behind the scenes. “I came back to America and suffered such severe somatic pain and so many panic attacks,” she said. “I knew it was so bad that I would never ever be able to watch this film.”

Tomi Adeyemi Children of Blood and Bone also highlighted her decision to avoid discussing every challenge she faced while creating the successful fantasy series. Instead, she focused on the emotional impact that followed her departure from the film set and its lasting effects. The author stressed that many witnesses saw her condition after leaving production, making her experience widely known among those involved.

She said she accepted she might face criticism but believed remaining silent would only make the situation much worse. Representatives for Paramount, director Gina Prince-Bythewood, and Adeyemi did not immediately respond to requests for comment following her public allegations.

Despite helping write the screenplay, Adeyemi previously revealed she never plans to watch the completed adaptation because of everything she endured.
