Days after Donald Trump’s inauguration as the President of the United States of America and his executive order granting ByteDance 75 days to sell its US assets, the app is yet to make a return to Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.
Recall that the popular social media platform went dark on Sunday, January 19, around 10:30 p.m. In the United States, services on the app were restored after Trump gave a 75-day clemency for the China-based parent company ByteDance to sell its US assets and be separated from it.
However, after activities were restored on the app, it is yet to make a return to Google and Apple’s app stores. According to reports, the situation is expected to stay the same until after the grace period given by President Trump.

Both tech giants are likely waiting for a clear and legally binding resolution—such as the successful sale of TikTok’s U.S. operations or additional government guidance—before taking any action to make the app available for download again.
To download TikTok in the US costs $50k
According to a report by Reuters, people looking to make a quick profit from TikTok fans’ desperation listed devices on eBay (EBAY.O) with the app purportedly downloaded for up to $50,000.
