Tems and Dave’s “Raindance” GRAMMY consideration has sparked attention, with reports discussing the song’s potential across several major award categories. The reported categories include Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Solo Performance, Best R&B Song, and Best Music Video.
However, available reporting identifies “Raindance” as Tems’s entry for Best African Music Performance, making further verification important before publication. Released in October 2025, “Raindance” pairs Nigerian singer Tems with British rapper Dave on a collaboration blending melodic vocals and rap.
The track gained international momentum, reaching number one on the United Kingdom singles chart and attracting listeners across multiple markets worldwide. Its commercial success has strengthened the collaboration’s profile, introducing both artists to wider audiences through streaming, radio, and its official music video.
Record of the Year recognizes recording performance and production, while Song of the Year focuses on songwriting and composition. Best R&B Solo Performance celebrates individual vocal performances, whereas Best R&B Song recognizes songwriting achievements within the rhythm and blues genre.
Best Music Video considers visual storytelling, creative direction, and the audiovisual presentation accompanying a song’s release during the eligibility period. Tems brings a distinctive vocal style to “Raindance,” while Dave contributes his rap delivery and songwriting to the successful collaboration.
Although fans may welcome reports of multiple category submissions, consideration does not guarantee nominations or recognition from Recording Academy voting members. The Academy reviews eligible submissions before members vote, and official nominations ultimately determine which recordings advance toward the annual Grammy Awards ceremony.
