The #OscarSoWhite hashtag has become synonymous with the announcement of Academy nominations starting from 2015 year.

There are concerns in many sections that the Academy awards is only for white movies, actors and producers.

Filmmaker Spike Lee as well as actress Jada Pinkett Smith have announced their boycott of the awards.
Spikelee took to Instagram to post a lengthy text on his grouse with the board of the Academy awards.

Jada Pinkett Smith’s Facebook video called for actors of color to boycott the award ceremony in February.
The Academy Awards will be hosted by comedian Chris Rock.
