Katseye member Sophia Laforteza will miss the group’s upcoming UK and European tour dates as she continues to focus on her well-being.
Laforteza will not perform with the group during the European leg of the ‘Wildworld’ tour. The dates are scheduled to run from September 1 through September 17.
Sophia Laforteza Takes Time Away
The singer temporarily stepped back from Katseye earlier this month. She said she wanted to focus on her “mental health and wellness.”
The group’s label has now confirmed that she will remain away from the group for the European shows.
In a statement shared on social media, the label said it remains committed to supporting Laforteza during her break.
“The company remains fully committed to providing her with all the support and resources needed,” the statement read.
The label also confirmed that Laforteza would not take part in the upcoming shows.
“Sophia will not be participating in THE WILDWORLD TOUR in Europe and the UK scheduled from September 1 through September 17.”
Label Asks Fans to Support Sophia
The label also appealed to Katseye’s fans, known as EYEKONS, for their understanding.
“We sincerely ask for EYEKONS’ warm understanding, as our highest priority will always be the health and long-term well-being of our artists. We will share further updates as they become available. Please continue to send your love, warmth, and support to Sophia and KATSEYE.”
Laforteza’s absence is the latest change to affect Katseye this year.
In February, member Manon Bannerman announced a temporary hiatus from the group. She said she would “focus on her health and wellbeing.”
Earlier this month, Laforteza followed with her own break.
The group also pulled out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields Festival. The decision came days before their scheduled performance. Katseye cited Megan Skiendiel’s ankle injury as the reason for the withdrawal.
Katseye Continues to Rise
Despite the changes, Katseye has continued to grow as a pop group.
The group earned its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with ‘Wild’ in August.
The ‘Wildworld’ tour will begin on September 1 at Dublin’s 3Arena. The European leg will also include stops in Paris, Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
