Writer and social commentator Solomon Buchi has publicly questioned media personality Daddy Freeze over his silence on the long-standing allegations surrounding Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, founder of SPAC Nation.
Buchi raised the issue via his Instagram page, directly addressing Daddy Freeze and asking why he has not spoken about the accusations against Pastor Tobi, despite Freeze’s reputation for consistently calling out religious excesses and controversial church practices. According to Buchi, the silence appears inconsistent with the standards Freeze has publicly set for himself over the years. In his post, Buchi pointed out that Daddy Freeze has built a brand around criticising what he considers manipulative religious practices, including excessive tithing, lavish lifestyles of pastors, and the exploitation of church members.

He argued that in the spirit of integrity, openness, and honesty, Freeze should address the allegations surrounding SPAC Nation with the same boldness he applies to other religious figures.Buchi also claimed that Daddy Freeze played a role in introducing Pastor Tobi to the Nigerian audience, noting that the London-based pastor was relatively unknown in Nigeria before the COVID-19 period. According to him, this connection makes Freeze’s silence even more noticeable and worthy of public scrutiny.
SPAC Nation, led by Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, has faced allegations over the years from former members who accused the church of manipulating young people into giving large sums of money, sometimes encouraging them to take loans to donate to the ministry. While the church has denied these claims and insisted its activities are focused on youth empowerment and community impact, the controversy has remained a recurring topic in public discourse.Buchi emphasised that his call-out was not a personal attack but a request for consistency. “I want to hold you to the standard that you have consistently shown on social media,” he said, suggesting that credibility is built not just by who one criticises, but also by who one is willing to question.
The post has since sparked conversation online, with Nigerians divided in their reactions. Some agree with Buchi’s position, arguing that public commentators should apply the same scrutiny across the board, regardless of personal relationships. Others believe Daddy Freeze is not obligated to comment on every controversy, especially when he may not have direct involvement. As of the time of writing, Daddy Freeze has not publicly responded to Buchi’s comments.
Pastor Tobi Adegboyega has also maintained his stance that allegations against SPAC Nation are exaggerated or false. The exchange highlights a broader debate within Nigeria’s digital media space — one that questions accountability, consistency, and the responsibility of influential voices when it comes to sensitive religious issues. For many observers, the conversation is less about SPAC Nation alone and more about whether principles should ever be selective.
