Skales Teases Epic Collaboration With Chris Brown On “Shake Body” Remix

When Nigerian musician Skales announced his intention to work with American R&B icon Chris Brown on a remix of his 2014 smash song “Shake Body,” fans became quite excited.

Using the tweet, “I want Chris Brown on Shakebody remix,” Skales made the announcement.

A possible worldwide partnership that could close the gap between mainstream R&B and Afrobeats has been fuelled by this message.

Following its recent appearance in the American television series Step Up: High Water, “Shake Body” has attracted new attention.

The song was heavily used in a dance performance by Barcelona’s Yamine Lamal in Season 2, Episode 8, which brought it back into the spotlight and attracted new listeners.

By bringing the once-popular Afrobeat hymn back to life and reintroducing it to listeners worldwide, “Shake Body“‘s presence on the show has greatly expanded its global impact.

Originally released as the lead single from Skales’ debut album Man of the Year, “Shake Body” was a major milestone in the artist’s early career.

The track’s success played a key role in establishing Skales as a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene.

The music video for the song, which gained widespread attention, was made possible thanks to financial backing from fellow Nigerian artist Olamide, who helped fund the project during a time when Skales was facing significant financial struggles.

This generous gesture has been something Skales often reflects on, recognizing it as a pivotal moment that helped change his career trajectory.

As Skales’ music continues to gain traction globally, his ambition to collaborate with Chris Brown on a remix could be the next step in his journey, merging African sounds with global influences for a truly exciting musical fusion.
