Sharon Ifunanya Faqwa has shared fresh details about how her first encounter with actor Shawn unfolded in a way she now describes as more than a coincidence, revealing that she had a dream about him shortly before they actually met. She explained that the experience initially unsettled her, leading her to dismiss it completely at the time and even pray against it, insisting she “cancelled it in Jesus’ name” because she did not understand what it meant.

Speaking about their early connection on Watch Transparent, Sharon said she had been a long-time admirer of Shawn’s work before they ever crossed paths in real life. She recalled watching his movies regularly and already being familiar with his screen presence, but still found it surprising when their personal interaction eventually happened. According to her, the reality of meeting him felt different from what she had imagined, noting that his personality and spiritual side added layers she had not expected.

Sharon also opened up about the reaction from her family, particularly her mother, who was initially uncomfortable with the idea of her dating an actor. She said her mum’s first response was a clear rejection, describing the profession as a concern. However, Sharon explained that she later tried to ease those fears by showing her mother Shawn’s social media presence, including his style and public image. Over time, she said her mother began to soften her stance after seeing more of who he was beyond the label of “actor.”

Beyond family approval, Sharon admitted she had to personally reflect on whether the relationship aligned with the life she envisioned. She said she questioned if she was ready for the attention that comes with dating someone in the entertainment industry, including public appearances, premieres, and constant visibility. According to her, she is naturally more private and had to honestly evaluate whether that lifestyle suited her long-term comfort.
