Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has submitted ‘FUJI MOTO’ and ‘Ama’ for 2027 Grammy consideration, targeting recognition in two major categories. The submissions highlight Seyi Vibez’s growing international ambitions as Afrobeats artists continue pursuing opportunities at music’s most prestigious global awards.
‘FUJI MOTO’ enters consideration for Best Global Music Album, a category celebrating outstanding albums that showcase musical traditions and influences worldwide. Meanwhile, ‘Ama’ targets Best African Music Performance, a category recognising recordings that highlight Africa’s diverse sounds, creativity, and musical excellence.
The two submissions place Seyi Vibez in different award categories, reflecting his interest in both global album recognition and African performance honours. However, Grammy consideration does not guarantee a nomination, as eligible recordings must progress through the Recording Academy’s established voting process.
The Academy’s members determine the nominees and winners, making the consideration stage an early step rather than confirmation of award success. Seyi Vibez has built a strong following through his distinctive vocals, street-inspired storytelling, and fusion of Afrobeats with Fuji influences.
His musical approach draws from Nigerian sounds while connecting with listeners who appreciate emotionally expressive lyrics and contemporary African production. Submitting ‘FUJI MOTO’ and ‘Ama’ for 2027 Grammy consideration could increase attention around the projects as the awards process continues.
For Nigerian music fans, the submissions also reflect the growing ambition of local artists to secure recognition on international platforms. Afrobeats has gained significant global visibility in recent years, with Nigerian musicians expanding their reach through streaming, touring, and international collaborations.
Still, the final outcome will depend on the Recording Academy’s eligibility checks and voting decisions throughout the upcoming awards cycle. Seyi Vibez’s 2027 Grammy consideration therefore represents an important moment in his international campaign, although nominations and eventual wins remain uncertain.
