Nigerian singer Seyi Vibez has gifted his father a second house, years after his family asked him to leave home at the age of 15 because of their difficult living conditions.
The ‘Opera Mini’ hitmaker announced the gesture in an Instagram post on Wednesday, sharing a video of himself, his father and associates standing in front of the multi-million-naira property.
“I celebrate you, Pops! Congrats on your second house. ALHAMDULLILAH,” he wrote.
The latest gift marks the second house Seyi Vibez has given his father, whom he fondly calls Baba Loseyi.
The singer had previously built a house for him in Lagos in June 2023, shortly after gaining mainstream recognition.
Born Balogun Afolabi Oluwaloseyi, Seyi Vibez rose to prominence in 2023 following the release of his hit single ‘Chance (Na Ham)’.
He has since collaborated with several notable figures in the music industry while building a strong connection with street music fans through his distinctive sound.
In August 2023, the singer recalled how growing up in Ikorodu, Lagos, influenced his decision to pursue music.
His journey to success, however, came against the backdrop of financial hardship.
In 2024, Seyi Vibez disclosed that his family had asked him to leave home at 15 because of their difficult circumstances.
He said his relatives encouraged him to seek opportunities elsewhere rather than remain in their struggling household.
“I left home when I was 15. Things were difficult in the ghetto, so I had to make way for myself. Even my own family freed me. They said, ‘Go, do not die here. You should go away and hustle for yourself, ’ the singer said.
