After hours of engaging arguments in the preliminary rounds, four schools advanced to the semi-finals: Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), Saint Graags School, CMS Grammar School, and International School of Lagos State (ISL).

The semi-final topic, “The Role of AI in Shaping Future Careers: Opportunities or Threats,” challenged students to think critically about how artificial intelligence is transforming global industries. Each school presented strong perspectives, connecting technology, education, and employment with real-world examples.

Command Day Secondary School focused on how AI creates new career paths and promotes innovation, while ISL countered with concerns about automation and job displacement. CMS Grammar School highlighted AI’s potential to redefine education and improve productivity, and Saint Graags School impressed the judges with their balanced approach, emphasizing both the promise and responsibility that come with technological progress.

Final Showdown and Victory for Saint Graags School

After careful deliberation, the judges announced the finalists: Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), CMS Grammar School, and Saint Graags School. Excitement filled the hall as the scores were revealed — CDSS secured 60 points, CMS followed closely with 62 points, but it was Saint Graags School that clinched the lead with a commanding 83 points, earning them the title of champions of the New Media Conference School Debate 2025.
