Ronke Oshodi-Oke Hails Iyabo Ojo, Defends Tope Alabi Amid Criticism Over Daughter’s Wedding

In a public statement, veteran Nollywood actress Ronke Oshodi-Oke commended fellow actress Iyabo Ojo for her maturity and unity in inviting her ex-husband to their daughter Priscilla Ojo’s wedding.

In a recent interview with Oyin Momo TV, Ronke made the claim, stressing Iyabo’s dedication as a mother and her years of careful parenting.

She described Iyabo as a devoted and involved parent, recalling how she used to walk around with her kids when they were smaller.

“I give kudos to Iyabo Ojo. When Priscilla and her brother were young, she was always going everywhere with them. She is a devoted mother. I now respect her more when I saw Priscilla’s dad at the wedding. I also learnt a lesson from her,” she said.

Next, she offered her thoughts on the continuous criticism directed at gospel singer Tope Alabi, whose ex-husband was conspicuously missing from their daughter’s wedding.

Ronke Oshodi-Oke advised the public to refrain from drawing hasty judgements, speculating that the daughter might have made the choice.

“Don’t let us blame Tope Alabi for not allowing the father of her daughter to be present at her wedding. The girl is 27 years old, maybe she was the one that didn’t want to see her dad. She is an adult. If she really wanted her dad, she would have insisted to her mum,” Ronke added.

Ronke emphasised the significance of comprehending the complexity involved in such private family circumstances, even though she made it clear that she does not advocate totally ignoring a parent.

She finished by pointing out that Iyabo’s inclusion was made feasible since Priscilla probably wanted her father to be there.
