Ronaldo Reveals the One Quality Cristiano Jr Needs to Follow in His Footsteps

Cristiano Ronaldo believes hunger, not size or talent, will decide whether his son, Cristiano Jr., can reach the same football heights as his father.

The Portuguese football star shared his thoughts while watching Cristiano Jr. train with Al Nassr’s youth team.

Ronaldo compared his son’s physical development with his own at the same age. He noted that Cristiano Jr. is already bigger and stronger than he was as a teenager.

“He is a little bit bigger and stronger; I was smaller. I think he will be bigger than me,” Ronaldo said.

Ronaldo on His Son’s Personality

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also spoke about Cristiano Jr.’s personality.

Ronaldo described his son as an easygoing child compared with his younger siblings.

“He’s a good kid. The other ones I have are tougher, the ones I have at home, the small ones. This one is no problem,” he said.

However, Ronaldo believes physical growth and talent are not enough to build a career like his own.

When asked about his son’s drive, the Al Nassr star pointed to hunger as the biggest challenge.

“The hunger is the most difficult,” he said.

Cristiano Jr’s Football Journey

Cristiano Jr. has continued his football development within Al Nassr’s youth setup since his father joined the Saudi Arabian club.

His position gives him access to an elite football environment from a young age. However, it also means that his progress is closely watched because of his father’s huge legacy.

Ronaldo has previously spoken about allowing his children to choose their own paths rather than forcing them to follow his career.

For Cristiano Jr., the challenge will therefore go beyond having a famous father or strong physical qualities.

Ronaldo’s latest comments suggest that the desire to improve, compete and keep pushing himself will be the key factor in deciding how far his son can go in football.
