Air Peace Airline announced that the repatriation flight from Canada to Lagos, Nigeria has been postponed due to certain logistic issues from the Canadian government. This is because the Canadian government had denied Air Peace airline landing rights
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama has therefore explained that Air Peace airline does not have a license to carry out commercial flights to Canada. He also explained that the Nigerian High Commission is negotiating with the Canadian Commission so as to ensure that Nigerians are brought back home in due time. The Minister also said “the argument our High Commissioner is making is that this is not a regular commercial flight, but instead an emergency evacuation flight. So negotiations are ongoing with the Canadian government.โ
