Poco Lee’s management has dismissed claims that drink-spiking forms part of the Nigerian dancer’s alleged rape case in the United Kingdom.
The dancer, whose real name is Iweh Pascal Odinaka, will appear before Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15.
The court confirmed the date to TheCable Lifestyle on Tuesday. James Baker, the court’s admin team lead, said the case is listed for plea and trial preparation.
The court administrator also said Poco Lee faces charges of attempted rape, two counts of rape, and two counts of assault by penetration.
His management addressed reports about the case in a statement shared on Instagram.
The team said “a volume of unverified narratives” had circulated online. According to the statement, some of the reports claimed that “drink spiking” appeared on Poco Lee’s charge sheet.
The management rejected the claim and urged the public to rely on verified information about the case.
“We are particularly concerned by the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating, including claims referencing ‘drink spiking’, amongst other allegations which do not form part of any of the allegations or charges before the court,” the statement reads.
The team also warned media outlets and members of the public against adding claims that do not form part of the court proceedings.
“We ask the public and media to desist from introducing details that are not part of the actual case, as doing so only fuels misinformation and causes unfair prejudice to all parties involved.”
Poco Lee’s management said it would share further information about the case through its official channels when appropriate.
