Paramount+ has canceled the Tracy Morgan-led comedy “Crutch” after just one season. The multi-cam sitcom premiered on the streaming service in November 2025.

The cancellation comes as little surprise. The show failed to attract a significant audience after its debut. Morgan has also shifted his focus to other projects.

The actor now stars in the NBC comedy “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.” The series premiered in January 2026. NBC renewed it for a second season in May.

Behind the scenes, “Crutch” faced additional hurdles. Cast options expired some time ago. Several cast members also moved on to other projects. Those developments made a second season less likely.

The cancellation leaves Paramount+ with only one live-action comedy on its current slate, “Colin from Accounts.” The streamer has increasingly focused on drama series instead. Its lineup includes Taylor Sheridan’s “Landman,” the “Yellowstone” spinoff “Dutton Ranch,” and the British crime drama “MobLand.”

“Crutch” hailed from Cedric The Entertainer and his production company, A Bird and a Bear Entertainment. Owen Smith created the series and served as executive producer and showrunner.

The executive producing team included Cedric The Entertainer, Eric C. Rhone, Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment, Wendi Trilling for TrillTV, Mike Mariano, and Morgan. CBS Studios produced the series. Paramount Global Content Distribution handled international distribution outside Paramount+ markets.

The decision ends the short run of “Crutch” as Paramount+ continues to invest heavily in drama programming.
