Touching information about the family of Kehinde Alade, the WAEC student who was sadly killed after being struck by a stray bullet in Ibadan, Oyo State, has been made public by Nigerian radio personality Oriyomi Hamzat.
On May 20, 2025, Kehinde was travelling to his testing location when the tragedy happened.
The young student’s life was cut short when a stray bullet, purportedly fired by a police officer, wounded him, igniting a state-wide anger.
The government of Oyo State has responded by opening an inquiry into the events leading up to the catastrophe.

Oriyomi Hamzat said during a recent news conference that he had a meeting with Kehinde’s father soon after the incident.
The distraught father revealed to them that Kehinde’s mother left the family nine years ago, leaving him to raise his kids by himself.
He has been unmarried ever since, concentrating entirely on his responsibilities as a father and carer.
During the boy’s last moments, Hamzat enquired about Kehinde’s mother’s location and voiced concern about her prolonged absence.
He proposed that if she had been in the car and could have intervened or provided direction, her presence on the day of the occurrence might have avoided the catastrophe.

@bosskid447:
“Oga pls in as much as we love you , pls and pls don’t make their martial affairs to do your program. Even if the woman did not divorce their father will she always be we the children in the car? This is a no no for me.”
@eniolaoluwa_f:
“I don’t agree with this. Let’s make sense even if the mother was staying with their father. We had situations whereby one parent does school runs. Shifting the blame to mother for the man’s reckless driving is pointless”
@da.obasam:
“Kilagbe? Kileju? What has the boys mother got to do with reckless driving and police shooting when it’s actually not needed. So you expected that THING we saw in that video to have a wife at home? See you people should just face this matter and leave my gender out of it.”
@porcholori:
“So, it is now her fault? Oriyomi should stop this blame game, isnโt it very obvious why she left him? Very stubborn and reckless”
@cutestjeweller:
“Even if a woman was beside this man he would do same ,person wey no care about the kids wey dey inside car๐ฎletโs call a spade a spade abeg๐ฅน๐ฅน๐ฅนitโs sad abeg

@topaz_int:
“Leave his personal life out of this nahโฆwhat kind of irrational thinking is this ?!”
@manuella_.1:
“What this man is saying has nothing to do with the situation at hand .. the woman left the man for 7 years ?.. so how does that correlate with the tragic incident.. abeg”
@blazeisfunny:
“The man self no be good person; his behaviour shows it all through his reckless driving. Whenever i have my child in the car; i use to drive in a way that i wont even want his head to shake. I am not justifying the shooting of that police oo; but if the police no shoot that boy; the manโs reckless driving can also kpai that boy through another way. Imagine driving like that and there was a brake failure ๐คทโโ๏ธ Who knows why the woman left him; maybe na because of his coconut head. He used his hand to k!ll his own child jare.”
