In view of his wife’s recent academic achievement, Nigerian businessman and well-known socialite Obinna Iyiegbu, often known as Obi Cubana, has set a serious academic challenge to his five boys.
His wife, Ebiere Iyiegbu, also known as Lush Eby, just graduated with honours from the University of Surrey in the United Kingdom with a master’s degree in International Business Management.
The achievement was widely praised and celebrated with a special get-together that included family and friends.
Obi Cubana, who had recently made headlines due to a next-of-kin dispute, took the occasion to speak at the celebration and give his kids a meaningful message.

He reminded his sons that they are expected to equal or exceed their mother’s academic accomplishments, highlighting the importance of her accomplishment.
He said that he would not put up with poor academic performance and jokingly threatened to take disciplinary action against any of them who did not reach the standards set by their mother.
“I challenge my boys, if your mum, after five of you, plus me in the midst of all these, will come out with a distinction, anybody that will perform below her, I’ll flog their backsides.”
