Sports giant Nike has suspended its relationship with Russian tennis star, Maria Sharapova after she failed a drug test.

Sharapova is the richest sportswoman in the tennis world, with dozens of endorsements and an eight year contract with Nike worth £49 million.
Nike said in a statement,”We have decided to suspend our relationship with Maria while the investigation continues,” Nike said.
“We will continue to monitor the situation.”

Watchmaker, Tag Heur has followed suit, suspending their relationship with Sharapova and disclosing that her contract will not be renewed.
