Charles Egbu, a Nigerian professor has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of a United Kingdom university, Leeds Trinity University, thereby becoming the first black Vice-Chancellor of the university.
Before his appointment, Charles Egbu was the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Experience at the University of East London. He was also the Dean of the School of Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University as well as the Head of the School of Built Environment and Architecture at the University of Salford. Professor Charles Egbu has also held several academic positions at the University College London, Glasgow Caledonian University and Leeds Breckett University.
The Nigerian Professor, who hails from Anambra State, Nigeria will resume his duties as the institution’s vice-chancellor from the 1st day of November, 2020
