A single number could reduce confusion when citizens urgently need help. Vice President Kashim Shettima directed stakeholders to develop a detailed operational roadmap.
The roadmap will guide implementation across states and relevant emergency response agencies. Authorities also want clear procedures for handling calls and coordinating emergency services.
The government formed a committee to complete the operational framework. Members include the Nigeria Police Force, NCC, NEMA, and FRSC. The committee will prepare standard operating procedures for implementation. The National Economic Council must endorse the final roadmap before rollout.
