Natasha Osawaru vows to become Nigeria’s president before her grandfather’s death

Natasha Osawaru Idibia, wife of Nigerian music star 2Baba, has vowed to become Nigeria’s president during the lifetime of her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, the Esama of Benin Kingdom.

Natasha made the declaration while celebrating Igbinedion’s 92nd birthday on September 11, 2026, in Edo State.

The lawmaker representing Egor Constituency in the Edo State House of Assembly praised her grandfather’s accomplishments and influence during the private celebration attended by family members, business leaders and political figures.

“As you age, you become sweeter and better. It is so amazing to be around you, Grandpa…I will make you very proud, I promise you. Today shall be one of the best of your days, and more to come. May God bless you, my grandfather. You are like my baby right now; I love you so much. I promise you that I’ll be the president of this country before you go. And I’ll make you very, very proud”

The 31-year-old lawmaker’s declaration marks a public expression of her ambition to eventually occupy Nigeria’s highest political office.

Natasha comes from the influential Igbinedion family, which has produced several notable figures in Nigerian politics and public service.

Her relatives include former Edo governor Lucky Igbinedion, former House of Representatives member Omosede Igbinedion, former local government chairman and Commissioner of Education Charles Igbinedion, and Peter Igbinedion, a former managing director of the Nigerian Aviation Authority.

Natasha’s political career has continued the family’s involvement in public affairs, while her marriage to 2Baba has also kept her in the public spotlight.

The couple recently made headlines following viral reports of an alleged rift at a nightclub in Abuja. However, 2Baba later dismissed rumours of a crisis in their marriage.
