“My Intentions Were Pure and Naive”: Billionaire’s Son, Siraheem Apologises for Abusing the Naira

Billionaire’s son Raheem Okoya, widely known as Siraheem, has posted a heartfelt apology online after a video of him abusing the Naira and using a police officer as his butler went viral.

Over the weekend, the budding musician and his younger brother were over at an Owambe party where they seemed to have had a good time. However, some of their actions while at the Owambe have fallen on the wrong side of the law.

One of the videos that went viral caught people’s attention. In it, a mobile policeman was seen carrying bundles of N1000 notes as the billionaire’s sons danced and sprayed the cash in the air.

The video got fans riled up, and some wondered if the Nigerian police had been reduced to such. Reacting to all the drama, Raheem stated that he had no intentions to cause trouble or harm, as his intentions were ‘naive’.

Raheem in his apology wrote on X, saying:

“To the Nigerian people, my actions were not to cause any trouble or harm. My intentions were pure and naive. I ask for your forgiveness and support in this situation as I had no intention to raise such an alarm. I wasn’t fully aware of the consequences of my actions. @PoliceNG

What triggered Raheem’s apology?

Raheem’s tweet was a response to a statement shared online by the Federal PRO of the Nigerian police force, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi.

In his statement, Adejobi slammed the actions of the police officer who was in the video posted by the fast-rising musician. He noted that it was unethical of the police officer to have featured in the viral video.

Adejobi also stated that the officer has been detained for disciplinary actions. Here below is Muyiwa Adejobi’s statement:

“The policeman captured in the recent viral video shared by the sons of the Lagos businessman, Chief Okoya, where they were abusing the naira, has been identified and detained for disciplinary action. The involvement of the policeman has been condemned, as it’s unethical. We will always strive hard to uphold the sanctity, credibility, and core values of the police. Thanks.”
