Contentious with her poignant and disturbing response to the passing of her father, former Oyo State governor Victor Omololu Olunloyo, Nigerian journalist Kemi Olunloyo has generated a lot of discussion.
Kemi made grave accusations against the deceased politician in a string of tearful TikTok posts, alleging that he caused her and her siblings severe psychological distress.
Kemi, who was well-known for her unrepentant and frequently controversial public remarks, cut ties with the Olunloyo family and voiced her extreme disdain of the flattering media portrayals of her father.
She described a particularly upsetting incident involving her younger brother, Gbenga, and accused him of both physical and emotional abuse.
“A teacher once reported my 12-year-old brother to Daddy for stealing in school. Dad hung him on the ceiling fan, beat him heavily and switched the fan on,” she claimed.

In a different story, she detailed how their father used a heated iron to burn Gbenga’s back because of a small dispute. Even now, the scars are still visible. “He will share that tale with his children,” she remarked.
She further claimed that two of her brothers were taken to a ritualist by the late governor, where they allegedly drank human blood to gain spiritual strength.
“When Oyeleke got back to the UK six weeks later, a car hit him and he died. Mummy shouted that Daddy sacrificed him,” Kemi stated. According to her, the other sibling contracted HIV from the alleged ritual experience.
Kemi revealed in one of her most personal disclosures that her first kid, whom she had left to Nigeria for a holiday while she was in the US, returned speechless and was later diagnosed with autism. She said that her father had been subjected to juju by his wife, Ronke.
“Daddy was helping other people’s children to get jobs but never did anything for us,” she said, expressing years of pent-up frustration and pain.
