Lagos is hot! Nigeria is hot!
To be honest, half the reason why the GidiFest Beach Partyย was such a great idea was that I had figured a little seaside breeze wouldn’t hurt!
Rocking my Ripped Jeans and my multi colored striped top and of course a beach hat, I made my way to theย Eko Atlantic Beach.
The event was slated to start by 12 but what is an event in this part of the world without Nigerian time?ย
Two hours later, the event kicked off with Football and Volleyball. Both sports were doubly interesting for me because women participated! *insert the black power fist here*
It was also nice to see that Art was very much appreciated. Seen our feature piece on Art? read it here.
As an art lover, I was delighted to see an art exhibition comprising works of really talented artists. My sweet tooth was sated by a free coupon for cotton candy from the sweet stand.
The order of the day was cashless and digital. Starting from the registration process where tickets were scanned, names were registered online and digital bands issued out were being topped up with money.
The V.I.P lounge was branded by Heineken and also had the MTV Base Interview Corner which later in the day swarmed with artists all socializing and chatting away about their experiences to the MTV Base representatives.

Back stage was filled mainly with security personnel and the hub of all the activities backstage wasย THE GREEN ROOMย which was made for performing artistes, guest artistes and their friends.
The Show kicked off at exactly 6pm with GGB dancers blowing our minds with their titillating dances moves.
Sensei Uche was the host of course, who else could keep our young and wild spirits up? He was later joined by South African Diva, Nomuzi. Afterwards Artistes like Tiwa savage, Timaya, Saeon, Poe, KO, Ricky Rick etc all graced the stage.

Saving the second best for the last was Small doctor who amazed the audience with his energetic performance which was total Wowza! The Koko Master, Dbanjย also graced the stage at about 4am.
There was a lot of give away proudly sponsored by Heineken and free Wifi courtesy Eclipse Africa and not to mention the DJ Mash Up where we had a chance to create our playlist based on the highest votes using our sensor bands courtesy Heineken.
In my opinion, I think the Regulars got the juice of the party as they were basically at the forefront of the stage alongside media crew and reporters.
Let’s do this again next year!
