Jose Mourinhoโs first match in charge of Manchester United ended in a comfortable win.
The first half at the DW Stadium was very much the pre-season affair, with few clear cut chances as both sides looked to shake off their rust and find some rhythm.
The Portuguese rang in the changes at the break when he brought on seven substitutes and it took only three minutes for the first goal to come, when Juan Matablocked a poor Jussi Jasskelainen clearance into Will Keaneโs path, who slotted home into an empty net.
Minutes later fellow sub Andreas Pereira doubled the lead with a thumping shot on the turn and the Red Devils were rarely troubled thereafter as the Special One opened up in perfect fashion.
Mata perhaps takes the man of the match after his second half impact.
Mourinho will have been impressed with Pereira, Young and new signing Bailly.
Tougher tests await of course, but it was a nice introduction to his squad for Mourinho.
