Estranged Nigerian singer and Streetpop maestro, Abdulazeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley and his colleague, Samson Balogun Eletu aka Sam Larry were officially freed on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, by a magistrate court in Lagos.

Naira Marley, Sam Larry along with Primeboy were all freed on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, and cleared of any involvement in the death of the late singer, Mohbad.

OSG recalls that over the last seven days Mohbad’s widow, Wunmi Aloba granted multiple interviews for the first time since her husband died.

During her interview with the BBC and Chude Jideonwo, Wunmi spoke about her late husband’s passing and how much she misses him.

She also alleged that Naira Marley and Sam Larry bullied her husband till he died. During the interview, Wunmi also slammed her father-in-law, Joseph Aloba supporting Naira Marley against her.

Recall that fast-rising singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka Mohbad, died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27, under controversial circumstances.

Several accusing fingers were pointed at his former label boss, Naira Marley, his friend, Sam Larry and Mohbad’s childhood friend, Owodunni Ibrahim, aka Primeboy, among others.

Court frees Naira Marley, Sam Larry

In a report released by Channels TV, it was affirmed that Naira Marley, Sam Larry and Primeboy have now been acquitted of any charges or involvement in the death of the late singer Mohbad.

According to the legal advice of the Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP), Magistrate Ejiro Kubenje read and implemented the directive that Naira Marley, Sam Larry and Primeboy had no case to answer.

However, the court stated that the auxiliary nurse who treated Mohbad before he died, Feyisayo Ogedengbe, and one of Mohbad’s friends, Ayobami Sadiq, would be prosecuted for reckless and negligent acts contrary to Section 251 (e) of the Criminal Law, Ch C.17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
