The President of UEFA, Michel Platini has announced today that he has withdrawn from his FIFA Presidency bid.

60 year old Platini was suspended for eight years from all football related activity by FIFA’s ethics committee for receiving a payment of 2 million Francs from Sepp Blatter.

Platini was once considered the frontrunner to succeed Sepp Blatter but his suspension means that his dream has been dashed.
