The Lagos State Government has extended hours of operations of food and non-food markets. Henceforth, both food and non-food markets will open at 8am and close by 6pm.
This was announced in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed. According to this statement, the decision to extend market hours is for the purpose of enhancing trade and commerce as well as to mitigate the hardship caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, food markets will only open on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday while non -food markets will open only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All traders are thereby urged to adhere strictly to the Covid-19 protocols.
