Lam Adeshina who was born on the 20th day of Janaury, 1939 is dead.
The former governor was a teacher before emerging the governor of Oyo State under the banner of the now-defunct Alliance for Democracy in 1999.
This legend after being rushed in an ambulance to an unknown hospital months ago has been reported dead today the 11th day of November, 2012.
The family members however said before now that his situation was so precarious that he may have been at the verge of death.
The former governor, Lam Adeshina used to be a political associate of the current Oyo Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Shortly after parting ways, the two men reunited in 2009 under the umbrella of the Action
Congress, which later changed into being the Action Congress of Nigeria.
It is under this ‘force’, that Governor Ajumobi now serves as the Governor of Oyo State.
The former governor died on Sunday November 11, 2012 at St Nicholas Hospital in Lagos after a protracted illness. He was buried in Ibadan according to Islamic rites.
He is survived by his wife and children.
The state government has declared a seven-day mourning for the departed elder statesman during which all official state functions will be suspended and the national flag flown at half-mast.
