The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has ordered a probe, into the killing of a 14-year-old girl in Ojota, during a rally by Yoruba Nation agitators.
Some witnesses claimed the girl, identified as Jumoke, was killed, by a stray bullet fired as police battled to disperse the protesters.
However, the police denied the allegations that their men fired the shot, insisting that they used only rubber bullets.
Moreover, the police said the body was not fresh and that it appeared to have a wound sustained from a sharp object.
Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Moyosore Onigbanjo said “government’s attention has been drawn to the death of a 14-year-old girl in Ojota during the Oodua Republic Mega Rally on Saturday, 3rd of July, 2021.
