A High Court judge in Lagos, Nigeria has ruled that some Coca-Cola products sold in the country contain additives that when mixed with vitamin C could become poisonous, according to a CNN report.
However, the decision contradicts limits set by international and local regulators, who deem the levels in Nigeria legal.
Sade Morgan, legal, public affairs and communications director of the NBC—Coca-Cola’s local manufacturer—told CNN that volume limits for the ingredients in question differ for each country and the NBC drinks currently fall within the accepted limit for Nigeria.
