Kosofe Partners with Finesser to Build a Future of Innovation, Talent, and Global Impact

In the heart of Lagos’ Kosofe district, a quiet revolution is unfolding. It doesn’t begin in a tech park or a corporate boardroom, but in a civic hall, where students gathered for an unusual town-hall meeting called
“A Day With The Chairman.”

At the center of it all stood Barrister Hon. Moyosore Adedoyin Ogunlewe (MAO), the Executive Chairman of Kosofe Local Government. But this wasn’t a typical political gathering. Instead, it was an innovation activation—a moment that fused governance, technology, social impact and youth empowerment in a way that few local councils have dared to attempt.

“We’re not just talking about youth inclusion,” Ogunlewe said with characteristic calm and conviction. “We’re building a system that connects their ideas to the future of Kosofe.”

The event marked the official activation of a youth-focused development strategy built on digital literacy, creative empowerment, and economic inclusion. The session brought together student representatives from tertiary institutions across the Kosofe Federal Constituency, who presented their Students’ Developmental Agenda, a document outlining opportunities for collaboration in education, innovation, and welfare.

But the highlight came when CI Finesser’s Group Chief Executive unveiled plans to collaborate with the Local Government on a Kosofe Creative and Digital Innovation Hub. A project described as “the Silicon Valley of Lagos grassroots.”

“This initiative is spot-on and future-forward,” said the GCEO.
“We see in Kosofe the next wave of tech builders, creators, and problem-solvers. From fintech coders to Afrobeats entrepreneurs, this hub will nurture Nigeria’s new creative middle class.”

The partnership forms part of Finesser’s Talent Xport Initiative (Lagos CreativeXport and Nigeria CreativeXport Programmes), strategic frameworks designed to unlock Nigeria’s $100 billion creative economy by connecting creators, innovators, and governments through unconventional learning, technology and capital access.

The event was attended by top youth and political figures including Hon. Abiodun Arayomi (Lagos State House of Assembly, Kosofe I), Hon. Tobi Oladejo (SSA to the Governor on Special Duties), and APC Youth Leader, Murtala Seriki, alongside student leaders and former GKSU Presidents.

For Ogunlewe, however, this is only the beginning.

“We’re building a Kosofe that listens, learns, and leads,” he said. “And it starts with giving our young people the tools to create the future they work hard for and deserve.”

In an era where many local governments struggle to connect policy with impact, Kosofe is positioning itself as a model for innovation-driven governance—where civic leadership meets creative enterprise, and where the next global founders might just emerge from the Kosofe.
