Following the recent explosions on the Kara bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway, the Federal Ministry of Works has ordered that the bridge be shut down for integrity test to determine its serviceability.

The Controller of Works of Lagos State , Mr Kayode Popoola said that traffic would be diverted to two lanes on the highway, instead of the original three. He also appealed to the motorists for their cooperation and understanding.

The test will be done by the Julius Berger Company.
