American actor Jonathan Majors has praised his wife, Meagan Good, for standing by him when he had little to offer. He recalled how she supported him through some of the most difficult years of his life.
The Hollywood star spoke during a chat with media personality Chude Jideonwo at the African International Film Festival (AFRIFF).
Majors said he was struggling to understand himself and had little money when Good came into his life. He also questioned what she saw in him as he dealt with negative attention over his fame.
“I got this beautiful woman coming to my life, and I don’t know what to do, cause I don’t know what or who I am, who is she, who is she coming to love? Who is this man? I ain’t got no money,” he said.
“I got the wrong type of fame at the moment, right? I got nothing to give her, but she just stayed. She just waited. She just helped me, okay?
“We’re gonna leave it there; she just helped me and then time goes on, and there’s all these moments right through the trial, through the actual trial, not like my old trial tribulations, no.”
Majors recalls support during trial
The actor also spoke about the pressure he faced during his trial in New York City.
At the time, Good was his fiancée. Her mother and sister also joined them as they arrived at the courthouse.
Majors said crowds gathered around their car as he prepared to take the three women into the building.
“I’m talking trial, I’m talking out the car… many people standing outside the car and I gotta get my then fiancée, mama, future mother-in-law, sister out the car in New York City into a courtroom to go meet some more people,” he said.
Majors’ legal troubles and marriage
Police arrested Majors in March 2023. A New York court later convicted him of third-degree assault and harassment involving his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari.
The court ordered him to attend domestic violence counselling and mental health therapy for a year. It also issued a permanent protective order between him and Jabbari. She dropped her lawsuit against him in 2024.
Majors and Good got engaged in 2024 and married in March 2025. The couple held an intimate backyard ceremony at their home in Los Angeles.
Good was previously married to Hollywood producer DeVon Franklin. They tied the knot in 2012 but announced their separation in December 2021. Their divorce became final in June 2022.
