Amadou ‘Jarvis’ Elizabeth, the content creator, has explained why she shaved her hair before her white wedding to Habeeb ‘Peller’ Hamzat.
In a video shared online, Jarvis dismissed speculation that she shaved her hair because of traditional wedding rites, saying the decision was based on her hairstylist’s recommendation.
“For those of you complaining about me barbing my hair, talking tribalistic blah blah, shut up,” she said.
The skit maker explained that she took down her hair to achieve a better result with her installation, noting that her hair had been difficult to style.
“I literally took down my hair because I wanted my installation to eat. That is what my stylist wanted because I have stubborn hair.”
Jarvis said her front hair had repeatedly failed to sit properly despite the efforts of her stylists.
“Most of my front hair hasn’t been sitting pretty, not because the stylists are not doing their good job. They are doing their best job; it’s just that my hair is stubborn,” she added.
She said her stylist eventually advised her to shave her hair, a decision she accepted because she wanted to look her best as a bride.
“So, she literally took her time and told me, ‘Please, Jarvis, can you do this?’ Why not? It’s my wedding, and I want to look pretty as a bride in a Veekee James dress, in makeup, everything.
“That’s why I did that, and I know that the installation ate.”
Peller and Jarvis held their white wedding on Saturday after their traditional wedding in Lagos and civil wedding in late July.
