ISIL Claims Responsibility For Multiple Bombings In Syria

Despite assurances from the United States that a Syrian ceasefire deal is “closer than we have been”, hostilities continue unabated in war torn Syria.
Two car bombings in the city of Homs and yet another Bombing at the Sayyida Zeinab shrine in Damascus has left at least 129 people dead.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) group has claimed responsibility for yesterday’s attacks in which many of the victims were civilians. ISIL staged a similar attack near the Sayyida Zeinab shrine last month which led to the death of 70 people.

Ceasefire talks are still ongoing even as some of the parties to the conflict insist that the removal of Bashir Al-Assad’s government is key to reaching any agreement.
