Adebayo Ridwan, the skit maker better known as Isbae U, says he started ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’ because he was tired of being average.
Isbae U spoke about the interview series during a recent appearance on the Morayo Show.
He said he wanted to create something different and build his own identity in the entertainment industry.
Isbae U explains the idea
The content creator said the series began as part of his journey to find himself.
“It came from me finding myself. There was a day I said to someone that I was done being mediocre, being average. I wanted to do something different. I did not want to just be considered part of them, part of the skit makers, one of them,” he said.
Isbae U also pointed to Zach Galifianakis’ ‘Between Two Ferns’ as an influence.
“I saw a show that I used to watch a long time ago. It is called ‘Between Two Ferns’ by Zach Galifianakis. So when I saw the show, I loved it. I thought, ‘Oh, this is something I can do.’ This is something I am good at. Even though the guy didn’t even do it as much as I am doing it now.
He said the series gives him a chance to show fans a different side of famous personalities.
“The idea of Curiosity Made Me Ask is to show you another part of this celebrity you have not seen.
Isbae U still creates content
Isbae U also spoke about claims that he no longer makes skits.
He said he still writes stories and helps other creators with their content.
“A lot of people thought or think I have stopped creating and just doing Curiosity Made Me Ask. But low-key, there are people I write stories for, people I help with their stories.”
