Innocent Idibia (2Baba) Sparks Debate Over Education Reform And Cultural Identity

Following remarks he made on social media regarding the Nigerian educational system, Nigerian music legend Innocent Idibia, better known by his stage name 2Baba, has sparked controversy.

The seasoned singer demanded a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s educational system in a recent Instagram story.

He proposed a “brain unwashing” to encourage new ideas and said the system needed a complete overhaul.

Furthering his argument, 2Baba suggested renaming the continent of Africa “Alkebulan,” a phrase that has historically been used to refer to it and is thought to signify “mother of mankind” or “Garden of Eden.”

The public’s response to his comments was not entirely uniform. Some fans responded with derision and sarcasm, while others applauded him for highlighting African ancestry and challenging outmoded educational standards.

During a meeting at the Edo State House of Assembly, his new wife, Honourable Natasha Osawaru, introduced herself as “nee Idibia.”

This incident was also brought up by critics. Since then, several internet users have started making fun of the situation.

However, 2Baba and Natasha have been under constant scrutiny since getting married, with social media users regularly leaving comments on their public appearances.
