Manchester City faced Stoke City in the Barclays Premier League with the knowledge that a top four finish is still not a guarantee.
After a draw to Newcastle, Manchester City found themselves sitting fourth with just three matches to the end of the season.
Facing Stoke City was always a grim prospect for most teams but this season, Stoke have been dismal away from home.
Manchester City took all the initiative early on, with Fernando giving them the lead with a header from a Jesus Navas header.
A few minutes later, Ryan Shawcross handled Iheneacho in the box and the referee pointed to the spot and Aguero tucked it in.
Manchester City took their foot off the pedal for the first few minutes of the second half and Stoke wasted two precious chances to draw level.
The second half was all Kelechi Iheneacho after he scored a delicious tap in for his first attempt.
He completed his brace by bursting past three Stoke defenders and rounding the keeper to assure the result at 4-0.
