Social media star and well-known relationship therapist Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO, has made a poignant statement that has the internet buzzing: she is officially engaged to infamous businessman Ikechukwu Ogbonna, also known as IVD.
In an emotionally filled post, Blessing CEO shared the exciting news with her admirers on her Instagram page:
“I SAID YES….. @ivd001 For the first time, I did not want drama. For the first time, I did not want the noise. I just wanted peace and softness! To hear our heartbeat as 1 and hear you breathe into my face. Let’s do this together as we take this journey forever. YES, YES, YES, I WILL MARRY YOU. IKECHUKWU DARRY OGBONNA.”
The message, which featured a picture of the couple at a private moment, has sparked new conversations about their relationship, which has been the subject of both rumours and controversy.

The backstory
Since late 2022, shortly after IVD’s wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, passed away tragically in October of the same year, Blessing CEO and IVD have been romantically associated.
Following a violent domestic incident that startled Nigerians and sparked a national conversation about poisonous relationships and domestic abuse, Bimbo passed away.
IVD was placed under police custody while investigations were conducted after Bimbo’s family accused him of long-term abuse.
In a shocking turn of events, Blessing CEO openly defended IVD, alleging that Bimbo had mental health issues and claimed his innocence.
In March 2023, she was briefly arrested by the Nigerian Police Force for cyberbullying and libel against Bimbo’s family after sharing supposed voice notes and chats between the couple on Instagram Live, a move that sparked intense criticism.
Blessing CEO maintained that her intentions were good and that she was speaking out as a relationship specialist who was worried about the facts, notwithstanding the backlash.

The two were already more than simply friends, despite her denials of having a love relationship with IVD at the time.
Her audience, especially women who have followed her for guidance on managing emotionally healthy relationships, may have doubts about her engagement to IVD, whom she earlier described as misunderstood.
Nevertheless, she seems prepared to move away from commotion and towards what she refers to as “peace” with this new chapter. It remains to be seen if this union signifies redefinition, revolt, or redemption.
