President Muhammadu Buhari says he would make every effort to enhance Nigerians’ living conditions, beginning with sufficient security.
According to him, he owes Nigerians a debt of gratitude for the opportunity to serve
Buhari said he began his administrative career as a military officer in Borno under Gen. Murtala Mohammed, speaking at the palace of the Shehu of Borno in Maiduguri, Borno, on Thursday during his visit.
Malam Garba Shehu, the President’s spokesman in a statement, quoted Buhari as saying: “My commitment to serve Nigerians is a payback for the love shown to me. I started my political adventure in Maiduguri and I always look forward to coming here.”
Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Garbai El-Kanemi, the Shehu of Borno, commended the President for his constant responsiveness to the hardship of the people in the state, noting that the security situation has greatly improved.
