Davido, a Nigerian music sensation, recently showed his sincere gratitude to veteran highlife artist Bright Chimezie, citing him as a major influence on his most recent hit song, “With You,” which features Omah Lay.

Davido’s pal Cubana Chief Priest posted a video call of the Afrobeats musician talking to Bright Chimezie and expressing his appreciation for the great artist’s work.

Chimezie’s iconic song “Because of English” was expressly mentioned by Davido as the inspiration for “With You.”

Davido highlighted the impact Chimezie’s song had on his own creative process by turning his phone to show Chimezie the music video that was playing on his TV during the chat.

He said, “I got inspiration from your song, God bless you”.
