Disputed Oba Solomon, a Nigerian cleric, has advised Nigerians to wait for official explanations on the arrest of social media critic Verydarkman before acting further.
Due to claims that the bank collaborated with the EFCC to arrest its customers, there have been widespread demands for people to boycott Guarantee Trust Bank (GTBank).
After allegedly going with his mother to a GTBank branch to resolve complaints over inexplicable debits, Verydarkman was taken into custody.
His confinement has angered fans, some of whom have started internet campaigns against the bank, even though the circumstances behind his arrest are yet unknown.

Oba Solomon, however, refused to join the chorus of public censure in a recent video, insisting that people hold off until Monday, when the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is anticipated to make an official announcement.
“I cannot tell the government to release VDM until I know his offence. Nobody is above the law,” he said.
Oba Solomon, who specifically targeted individuals blaming GTBank for the arrest, highlighted the value of due process and criticised rash decisions without true facts.
“Everybody should calm down and wait till Monday when the EFCC will release the official statement on why he was arrested. If they fail to do that, we can then swear for them,” he added.
He concluded by noting that the government reserves the right to make arrests anywhere, adding that more facts are needed before forming conclusions.
