A yet to be identified gunman shot and wounded two policemen in the Bronx today.
Both officers are patrolmen who encountered the gunman on a stairwell at on the sixth floor building of a housing project.

The gunman shot one officer in the face while the other was shot in the abdomen. The gunman killed himself afterwards.

New York City Mayor, Bill De Blasio said, “Our brave officers were doing their jobs tonight in our public housing on patrol keeping residents safe,”

He also confirmed that the officers shot were still alive, “Both officers are alert and communicating, and we are praying for the best here” De Blasio said.
