Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State has signed the Care for Child Victims of Sexual Violence Bill into law on Friday, 5th June, 2020. He said that this law will address the recent and rising sexual abuse cases in the state. The Governor also stressed the need for effective prosecution of sex offenders nationwide and a review of the existing laws on sex offenders.

The Care for Child Victims of Sexual Violence Law grants a child a rapid treatment in the case of any sexual violence or infection. The Law also compels caregivers to report sexual abuse cases to relevant authorities for prompt action
