Fresh restrictions have been imposed in the Scottish city of Glasgow and also in the northern parts of England after 66 new Coronavirus cases were recorded in the area on Tuesday.
The former restrictions imposed in parts of England, Bolton and Trafford have also been extended while there is also a continued ban on social gatherings in homes and private gardens.
Commenting on the restrictions, Matt Hancock, the Health Secretary said, “We continually monitor outbreaks across the country and have seen infection rates increase more than three times in Bolton in under a week, and double in Trafford since the last review. We have always been clear we will take swift and decisive action where needed to contain outbreaks.”
The United Kingdom has recorded more than 41,500 deaths from Coronavirus.
